We have recently signed up to become a member of the newly created Green Maker Initiative pledging to monitor, manage and reduce our impact on the environment. We will do this in a number of ways including continuing to recycle/reuse/sell on our waste materials from our processing systems at the mill. These include: Card waste (great for hand spinning/stuffing)/Worsted waste/tops (can be used for finger crochet/hand spinning)/Noil waste (can be used as padding for dog beds and other stuffing jobs)/Hard waste (small bits of spun yarn) and Bobbin waste (for stuffing or craft based activities). We make a nominal charge for these materials plus post and packaging costs, unless you are able to collect from us (this must be arranged in advance).
We have donated a surplus of waste materials to support the Green Maker Initiative’s Materials Exchange launch event held in February at the MAKE Southwest Riverside Mill in Bovey Tracey. The Green Maker Initiative has been created by MAKE Southwest and the ERDF funded Low Carbon Devon project at University of Plymouth. You can find out more about the project here (link is external).
Our list of available waste materials to purchase for your own products or projects can be found on this page.
