We offer Research & Development trials with Natural Fibres.
Our inhouse expertise enables us to trial unique and unusual blends, combining wool with other natural fibres and materials. We have worked with a variety of materials for our customers and we love to experiment and create new combinations so do get in touch if you have an idea for a new product or blend.
Natural Fibres and blends we have processed
We’re able to blend in loose fibres such as loose silk during the carding stage. The fibres must be of a similar micron count. We have successfully processed wool with a percentage of bamboo, hemp, ruby cattle, dog hair and even human hair to date.
Natural Fibres we’re unable to process
There are some fibres that are simply too strong or long for our machinery and can potentially damage them, such as cotton or recycled cotton.
We’ve created Limited Edition Yarns from our trials
We have produced a range of limited edition yarns, which have been designed as a result of our sample testing and new product development and fibre research activities, often recycling and reusing some of our mill waste and undervalued wool.
These unique yarns and mill waste by-products are available to view and buy from our Online Shop. Please note due to fluctuating currency exchange rates, increased shipping and customs charges, these products are only available to UK customers for now.

We love to talk about and show our latest developments and to collaborate on new product designs involving natural fibres. Due to the commercial nature of our work and an increased interest in British wool, we receive many academic/research based enquiries each month. Please note we may not be able to accommodate all requests and reserve the right to apply nominal charges to cover our commercial time and expertise.
