As a member of South West Fibreshed, we had the pleasure of welcoming a Farmer/Designer Meet Up group in January, organised by Liz Parker. It was a great opportunity to talk through our processes from field/farm to finished yarn through a guided mill tour delivered by our business development manager, Beki and to exchange ideas with our visitors.
The purpose of the meet up was to create a friendly and supportive space for facilitating new connections between farmers and designers from South West England who are interested in creating textile and fashion product from natural fibres and dyes sourced from the region. The aim is to foster long term collaborations that can help farmers diversify into fibre/fashion products and enable designers to work with regional resources.
