High and far off days

I love Rudyard (slip - wrote Rudyarn to start with!) Kipling ... particularly the lovely language of the Just So Stories, and especially The Cat that Walked by Itself.  I also think Kim, essentially the same plot as The Jungle Book, but set in the dangerous political world of the edges of India and the foothills of the Himalyas, is one of my favourite books of all time, with the perfect combination of great characters, adventure, wisdom and gentleness.

The "high and far off days" Oh Best Beloved, are part of the Jungle Book stories, but at my field, which is set quite high, with distant sea views, there are sometimes clean, cold, bright days in winter, when the sun is just chasing the frost off the fields, which are my own high and far off days, when being there is just a joy.  These pictures from yesterday try to capture it for you.
