Here is how we pack up our parcels of Blacker Yarns – carefully wrapping with tissue paper, as sustainably supplied as we can manage, tying up with our very own garden or craft twine, adding a signed compliment slip and a leaflet and putting it all into a bio-degradeable posting envelope.

We do get thanks for doing this and we aim to make it really feel more like opening a present than just unpacking a parcel of goods!

We were very impressed with the packaging recently when our current intern, Isabel, gave us some beautiful Christmas gifts made by her talented mum, who trades as Saramica and makes lovely jewellery inspired by the local surroundings in Broadstairs, Kent.

So here is another example done by Sara.  She hangs the little chain necklace or bracelet inside a corked bottle which also contains some sand from Broadstairs Beach, with shells which match those she has replicated in the silver jewellery.  Then she tissue-wraps the bottle and packs it into a little cardboard box with an initial sticker on the lid, and of course her business card.  Lovely!

I like the way Blacker sends their wool a lot, like you said opening a present rather than something plain - lovely, thank you!
