I saw a review of this book in a newspaper (probably The Times) and thought it might be interesting and I was right!  The publishers kindly sent me a review copy and, unlike a standard reviewer, I have read it from cover to cover.  I really like this book and recommend it to anyone wanting to know more about sheep and their relationship with us over time and across the land - it is accessibly and entertainingly written while still putting over a great deal of information in a usefully structured way.

Here it is!  This is a blend of Falkland Islands Corriedale/Merino pure white wool with 20% British alpaca, added to smooth the handle even more, slightly reduce the bulk of a woollen spun yarn and to add the natural colours.  We are starting with 4-ply and DK and in five shades: pure White, Silver, Pewter, Spice and Nutmeg.

The yarn is priced between our Blacker Classic  (£4) and Blacker Swan (£8.50) at an attractive £6.50 per 50g ball.  We are sending it out to magazines and designers at present and it will soon be available at www.blackeryarns.co.uk as well ...

This is scrub oak, the main vegetation on the steep river valleys of the Cornish ria coastline, looking down from the Hall Walk between Fowey and Polruan.  I love the twists and contrasts and feel a knitting design coming on!   It was a perfect day for a walk: no flies and no mud!
