Sheep and veg (not lamb and veg!)

These great sheep were at the Royal Cornwall Show last year, along with a cow made of flowers!

I was reminded of them as I saw a similar picture in a magazine recently.  Please also note the potatoes used to edge the flower bed behind.

There was also a great Jubilee picture.

Here's the stand!

Here is our bit:

Lambs in the kitchen ...

Lambs in the truck ...

Lambs and cookery books?  Sadly the smaller one did not make it, but the larger one, upgraded from Piu to Mezzo, is hale and hearty and now lives at the barn in a lambing pen and helps me looking after the others.

6th April, 2013: apart from the lambs, I also feed escapees from the pheasant breeding establishment next door!

This cock pheasant has been around since the autumn - we now have about three cocks and also a hen and some  younger girls who are busy eating with the lambs in the ram's paddock this week.  Not exactly tame, but quite willing to be near to humans and very willing to mix in with the sheep - the head on the left of the picture is Thor, the new young ram born here last spring and waiting to see his first lambs at present ...

Autumn 2012

6th April, 2013 All though the autumn I took photo's of various things,  meaning to put them into my blog - good intentions should be rewarded ... eventually so here is a selection - autumn colours and new gates!

These are autumn colours from the amelanchior in my garden (I like the first as it seems very painterly and the second for the colour) plus the misty autumn view in my fields.  It was mellow and misty but not very fruitful - no sloes and no blackberries this time, although I do have a good crop of oak apples!
