Patrick was taking the photo’s and Harry is always interested in photographers. Last week Patrick and Rosy from Rosy Green Wool came to visit, to update us on their plans and so they were also able to meet my sheep.
We are delighted that Rosy Green will now be available from Blacker Yarns through The Natural Yarn Company, where you can find both the Sport and the Aran weight of these very special fine, soft, organic superwash merino (enough adjectives!?) in all the standard 15 dyed colours and natural white. The yarn is in 100g twisted hanks and priced at £13.50. It has great handle and stitch definition and was specially designed by Rosy to suit her very exacting requirements on yarn and environmental sustainability. Why not try some? The sheep were, as usual very friendly, though one was too busy grazing to arrive early for the food!
And of course Harry is a dreadful tart and a sucker for new visitors prepared to scratch his head or rub his chest! So Rosy had to oblige!
Rosy and Patrick also came to the start of a new special project for yarns which they demonstrated at the Cologne H+H Handarbeit show, and which we are making for them with added organic British wool to provide a soft melange shade with beautiful new colours – but you will have to wait a while for the full story, as they visited the selected sheep being shorn and there is a great deal more information to come!
