6th April, 2013 All though the autumn I took photo’s of various things, meaning to put them into my blog – good intentions should be rewarded … eventually so here is a selection – autumn colours and new gates!
These are autumn colours from the amelanchior in my garden (I like the first as it seems very painterly and the second for the colour) plus the misty autumn view in my fields. It was mellow and misty but not very fruitful – no sloes and no blackberries this time, although I do have a good crop of oak apples!
Here is the entrance to the yard with my new gate! The rotting corpse of the old one is almost invisible to photograph! Also the gate into the field has been replaced, and I had been using a couple of hurdles for several months. While Robert Truscott was doing this, he also replaced the fencing for the rams’ paddock, which had reached the stage that a determined ram could push it over … and also repaired and updated my posh foot-bath, which is shown in the third picture. Last year he did the main field fences. So now I am poorer but more secure and these should last a decade!
