Here at The Natural Fibre Company in the heart of Launceston, we are very proud of our highly skilled, expert team of people. Our textile industry trained engineers and specialist finishers have been trained in-house. We have almost 100 years of experience of processing wool so you can be assured that your fleece is in very good hands and that we can be trusted to add value to your product in order to provide the highest quality possible.
Our office is small but very productive with everyone helping to ensure that we provide an efficient and quality, first class service to our regular and new customers.
The Natural Fibre Company team
Colin is our CEO and owner of the business.
June is our General Manager and Co-ordinator overseeing all the operations and working on scheduling in particular. She is assisted by Karen, our Finance Controller.
Beki is our Account Executive dealing with our commission spinning customers and helping them develop projects and market their yarns.
Sarah is our Marketing and PR Executive, promoting our range of services and latest news to our customers and social media followers for NFC and Blacker Yarns.
Our Mill Team consists of James, our Carding Engineer; Ryan, our Spinning Team Leader with Nadia working alongside him, and Reece, mill operative. The team handle production up to the finishing stage.
Tom is the Team Leader in Finishing with Wendy plying, washing, reeling, winding and ball-winding the yarns.
James is our most experienced member of staff and was recently named as a Manufacturing Hero by UKFT, you can read more about him here (link is external)
Beki, James and Ryan work together to progress our Research and Development activities in our testing house facility.
The Blacker Yarns team
Kamila is the Brand Manager who is focussed on developing and expanding the Blacker Yarns offer, extending the social media activity and blogging. Kamila speaks several languages including English, Polish, Russian and some Czech. She is supported by Ginny who assists with the processing and sending out of orders.
We outsource services when we need to and when appropriate. We regularly have the support and inspiration of student interns, helping with Blacker Yarns operations. We also engage a range of consultants to support our day to day activities. We’re a friendly team of people and we love to talk about yarn so do get in touch if we can help you in anyway.
