Our team of wool spinners
Much has changed since the Natural Fibre Company moved from Wales to Cornwall in 2005, most of it related to the people who work for the company.
A small team of dedicated staff has helped turn NFC into a specialist British wool spinner with a growing reputation for reliability and high quality.
The company offers a range of services for wool producers and trade customers with scouring, blending, carding, dyeing plus wool and worsted spinning all carried out under one roof.
Paul is mill manager who works closely with James, the carding engineer and his trainee, David, who keep the machines working and handle production up to the finishing stage.
Michael, too, is training, but he also looks after stock control and sorts the raw fleece as it arrives. Finishing is where Susan, Emma and Tamara come in.
All the commission-spinning customers know office manager Sonja and Anne who are responsible for goods in and out and keep everything running smoothly.
In addition to providing services for commission spinning customers, the mill also produces yarn for Blacker Designs and Blacker Yarns the marketing of which is the responsibility of our newest recruit, Steve.
The board of directors comprises managing director Sue Blacker, her husband Douglas Bence, former fund manager Sharon Pipe, aviation engineer and computer specialist Ian Rickard and human resources expert Irene Watson.
Part time staff help us with book keeping, accountancy, marketing, information technology and the web site.
