Knitting Week

20 October 2008

As part of Knitting Week The Natural Fibre Company hosted the Devon & Cornwall Longwool Society and 10 farmers got a shock knitting lesson that helped them see how value could be added to the fleece produced by their sheep.

Knitting Week is an annual event started in 2005 to inspire the new generation of knitters. As it is no longer possible to buy UK-made knitting needles, as part of the week The National Fibre Company launched a knitting needle and crochet hook exchange and encouraged people to dig out their odd and spare needles so they can be recycled to schools, residential homes, knitting groups and anybody else interested.
