Recycle knitting needles for charity

When you send your old or discarded knitting needles to Blacker Yarns, you are not only helping the environment, but also contributing to an international aid charity too.

Natural wool specialists Blacker Yarns have set up a scheme that allows you to recycle ‘creatively’. All you have to do is send any unwanted knitting needles, which are in good condition, to the company. Blacker Yarns will then wrap them in pairs, ready to be resold on their website. For every set sold, 25p will be donated to Shelter Box – an international disaster relief charity.

Shelter Box, who has most recently been involved in sending aid in response to the earthquake in Haiti, deliver boxes of essential equipment including tents and basic supplies, to those who need it most.
