Blacker Sheep was established by Sue Blacker
in 2005 to breed Gotland sheep and
process their wool . Although she has managed Gotlands as wethers for ten
years, Sue did not buy the flock until 2004. She is now taking over
The Natural Fibre Company.
The flock grazes on six acres near Lostwithiel and includes two crossbred ewes
from Romney stock. These produce larger lambs and excellent
fleeces and add to the variety of shades available.
Their lambs are around one eighth Romney with the remainder Gotland .
Ewe lambs, wethers and occasional rams are for sale and can be bred to order.
All purebred breeding stock is registered with the Gotland Society and has
scrapie status records.
