19th February: only about 6 weeks to go so up go the food rations!  All are looking quite good and healthy and seem very content ... so far, so good!  A few coughs have been treated and we are keeping a VERY careful eye on feet.  Here are a few lambs from previous years!

Between Black Head and Portloe on the south coast of Cornwall there is some lovely coastline and of course we have a coastal path ... 

17th January, 2012: Happy New Year!  Here are pictures of the flock and winter shearing.  Gideon the shearer and I delayed this event, which is normally before Christmas, because the weather was horribly wet.  Sheep are fine with cold but much less happy with wet, particularly when shorn.  So I feed them extra rations and give them access to shelter anyway but the wet and wind were a bit much.  We seem to have struck lucky as it has scarcely rained since we did it.

29th December: These are Robyn and Miles playing with their Christmas presents outside our house and also modelling the hoodies! (Before it rained again.)

Sunday 11th December: Well, the fun is over for another year ...  I put the rams back with their long-term wether (fine-wether?) friends and left the ewes in peace.  This was less traumatic than I feared (sometimes there is resistance!) but having a few wethers around confuses rams usefully, and anyway there was food in buckets.

Warm from top to toe, all wrapped up in scarves and shawls and socks in various combinations (or you can phone to choose!).
