Soil Association extends license to dyed yarns

The Soil Association has extended its accreditation for organic fibre production to The Natural Fibre Company's new dye plant. This recognition gives us a range of services available under one roof that makes us unique in the UK.

The spring sale is over, but there are a few Blacker Designs scarves and throws available at special summer prices. Our cushions are also on sale and are proving popular particularly with those who want to match a throw or picnic blanket. Please contact us for free samples of our soon-to-be-launched dyed yarn.

As well as adding value to the fleeces we process for our commission spinning customers, sometimes we buy the wool at a good price on behalf of Blacker Designs whose products first featured in the on-line shop in November 2008.

Come and meet us

We have met many of our customers at the shows we have attended during the year. If you have missed out so far, please come and see us. Two shows remain as listed below. These are also opportunities to see our dyed yarns some samples of which will be sold in special trial packs:

  • Fibrefest at Coldharbour Mill, Uffculme, Devon EX15 3EE, 22-23 August;
  • and iKnit at the Royal Horticultural Halls & Conference Centre, 80 Vincent Square, London SW1P 2PE, 11-12 September.

If you would like to see us at the mill you are welcome, but by appointment only on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoons or on Saturday mornings when the machines are not working.

Please note that we cannot allow anyone under the age of 15 to tour the mill while it's working. All visitors will need reasonable mobility in order see the mill properly.

We always try to accommodate visitors when it is convenient for them, but you may need to wait until a member of staff is available to take you round.
